Is the person in the photo using this equipment as an amplifier or trying to listen sounds above or below the human audible spectrum (20–20000 cps)? of course other living organisms have different audible spectrum ,but how to detect the sounds they listen but we humans don’t? maybe a transposition as those used by wind instrumentalists from infra sounds or ultra sounds to human audible spectrum. after the detection we could hear 2 or 3 octaves above or below the real sound but we could have an idea about what happens out of our audition capabilities… For intense : models of sounds organizations emitted by birds or other animals … augmenting our knowledge about nature and what happens around us.
