I have a similar issue with a Wavelab and an RME HDSPe MADI Fx . When I switch between files of different sample rates Wavelab either crashes, or there is a long delay before RME manages to get everything synced up with my AD converters. I really would like to be able to switch between a file of say 24 bit 96K which is my analog capture format, and my processed (Mastered) files which are typically 16bit 44.1k without a delay or a crash. I guess I could use SRC in the playback section as suggested above but I’m not sure exactly how that will affect my workflow. I’ll have to experiment.
