I’m okay with DAWs pushing computer requirements to an extent - but customization or better efficiency is always welcome. Reality is, those who can’t afford a better system or are in a lesser economic atmosphere will have to use other programs such as Audacity and I’m sure they will do brilliant work with less, more so than most do with Cubase.
I have tried other DAWs, under the same conditions and cubase is the one that demands the most, just running a session … I think it does not manage the resources of the computer well enough.
even so, I still work is the DAW that I always chose
