That is correct, you can still use RAID mode with a single drive. It will make no appreciable difference (anymore, it used to a while back so you will find older news like that but its no longer issue it once was for NVME SSDs).

Yes, though it will require a bit of fiddling or windows 10 will not boot. You need to set it to boot up in safe mode, restart, make the change, boot safe mode, driver will install, then boot again back to normal - from memory, google it and you will find it simply enough.
