Sometimes we just want to print some inserts to free CPU cycles up (or just make room for more processing power on our DSP cards) so having an option to render in place post-inserts/pre-fader would be a huge time saver. This way we can apply some plug-ins we have in our inserts and move on without having our faders applied as well.
