Can anyone tell me what does this crash in N10.3 mean?

N10.3 crash details:

Fault Module Timestamp: 5ec413fc
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 0000000001ccf0ce

This happened after saving the projext, and then pressing “T” to add a new track.
The box to add a track type showed up, and then N10.3 crashed right after.

Hi,

Could you attach the whole DMP file, please?
Mac: macOS Console utility > User Reports folder (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).
Win: Documents/Steinberg/Crash Dumps

Hi Martin

Martin in Nuendo 10.2 this was happening:

In case it’s the same problem, please let me know what is causing it.

Nuendo 10.2.20.396 64bit 2020.5.29 5.57.01.619.dmp (875 KB)

Hi,

The crashes (Nuendo 10.3) are in Groove Agent SE and HALion Sonic SE. Make sure you have the latest versions installed, please.

Reported to Steinberg CAN-30117.

Thanks Martin, I was feeling like a blind man.

I initially downloaded and installed the full Nuendo 10.3 Installation file.
Doesn’t that automatically install the latest versions of Groove Agent SE and Halion SE?

Also, could you please let me know if the crashes are the same in the N10.2 version I just sent you?

Hi,

You can download the latest Groove Agent SE and HALion Sonic Se from the Steinberg Download Assistance.

Thanks Martin
Could you please tell me if the crashes I sent you above here, from Nuendo 10.2.20 are also
related to the same plugins, or is it something else in my system?

Hi,

It seems, there is some version mismatch for the Waves-Plugins, i.e. there is a revision mismatch for WaveShell1 (10.0.53.1) and WavesLib1 (10.0.0.16) that doesn’t exist for the WaveLib/WaveShell pairs 3 and 5. Could you please investigate this?

Thank you Martin.
My Grove Agent SE and Halion SE were already updated from the full N10.3 installation,
so I don’t know what else to do here.

I’ll have to investigate waves, but it has been working ok for several years in the older N4.3 version.
I’m using the normal 64bit plugin versions.

I wish I could go back to doing more music, instead of a full time computer system troubleshooter.

Hi,

Waves Full reinstallation (or maybe just an update) should solve it from my point of view. Then the EavesLib1 and WaveShell should get back in sync.

Thanks Martin.
This will mess up my previous versions of Nuendo, and projects,
which currently work fine with Waves the way it is.

Either way I will backup and give it a try.
