Hi Raino, that is very good work!
Too much to ask if you could share some macros and logical edits?
Like "every other note vel -4", and the inversions and drops?

Sure here is the every other

Although an alternative way to select based on bar position is often more useful

The drops and inversions are just regular Key Commands in the Chords section.

Hi Raino, do you know if there is a way for the "every other" LE to work with ONLY SELECTED notes? I put property....the event is selected, and the script does nothing.
It seems it needs to work with unselected notes? but then I would be processing all the notes inside the midi event?

thanks!

If you have the Function at the bottom set to Select it behaves differently than if it is set to Transform.

Transform works like you'd want. If you Select some but not all of the Notes in a Part and run the Preset 'every other note minus 4' you will find it only changes the Velocity on the Selected Notes. But if you change the Function to Select (which will ignore the lower section) and run it the results will be: All the Notes initially selected AND every other unselected Note.

The only workaround I can think of is to create an LE Preset that Transforms some parameter you don't care about (for example; MIDI Channel or Voice) and then create a second Preset to select based on that Parameter. Then make a Macro from the two. Haven't actually tried this but expect it will work. A refinement would be to add a 3rd Preset that sets the parameter back to its initial value.

Wow, you even took time to prepare a gif, thanks!

will see if I can make the workaround work

This looks so useful. Would you be willing to share your icons or config file or whatever it is that sets it up for Cubase like that? I'm very tempted to get one of these but I dread figuring that part out from scratch. :)

Of course I use key commands as well, but also the Stream Deck and I even have some key commands stored in my mouse (Roccat Tyon). I am sure you could also make good music using just a plastic bucket, but a guitar or keyboard are still nice to have if you know what I mean (;

Using the Stream Deck comes in handy when you work long hours or when you are under time pressure, its nice to have a little helper to make your workflow a little smoother and can fall back on colorful easy to read icons that don't need much brain power.

It's also great if you work with many apps (like Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Cubase, Wavelab). Good luck remembering 200+ key commands. Stream Deck can sense which app you are working with and will then serve you the icons you need. Its also great for a URL link list. I just got done configuring it to use IFTTT... with it I can now control all my smart home devices, turn on / off lights, air condition heating aso. Pretty nerdy but very convenient.

I find it very helpful because you can use it for many things (also for streaming with OBS). If you want more icons, there is also the Stream Deck XL which has 32 LCD keys.

Hello everybody. If you may, please share your most useful key command settings and what it does to help your workflow. Maybe we can learn some time-saving tips from each other :) Don't forget to note down default assignments before changing them, just in case things don't work as you want.

For those unfamiliar with how to do this, in the toolbar, click Edit then Key Commands.

Using the format Folder -> Parameter -> Key, here are my favorite modifications:

1. The following allows the user to select MIDI notes or track clips and move them left/right/up/down using the keyboard arrow keys. By default, to move MIDI notes or track clips left/right, you have to hold CTRL as a modifier key and use the left/right arrow keys. Yet, to move them up/down there is no modifier key needed. It seemed unnatural to me so this resolves it:

Navigate -> Left -> (EMPTY)
Navigate -> Right -> (EMPTY)
Nudge -> Left -> LEFT ON ARROW PAD
Nudge -> Right -> RIGHT ON ARROW PAD

2. The following allows the user to shorten/lengthen selected MIDI notes or track clips more easily. The default command for end left/end right needed 2 modifier keys. After making the command changes noted in #1 above, this allows me to simplify the processes:

Nudge -> Start Left -> CTRL + LEFT
Nudge -> Start Right -> CTRL + RIGHT
Nudge -> End Left -> ALT + LEFT
Nudge -> End Right -> ALT + RIGHT

Seems CTRL isn't used for anything on MacOS. I defined these:

CTRL + C (Beat Calculator)
CTRL + V (Edit VST Instrument)
CTRL + B (Preset - Open Browser)
CTRL + A (Arranger - Activate)
CTRL + G (Undo Zoom)
CTRL + H (Redo Zoom)
CTRL + K (Edit - Key Commands)
CTRL + E (Editors - Open Key Editor)
CTRL + R (Render in Place - Render with Current Settings)

I wish the Mac side would just drop "Cmd" and re-name the key "Ctrl" same for "alt" "option" -- feature request. ;-) heh.

This is a thing of beauty. I did get META Grid, but, so far I've not integrated it. For now, my controller is doing the job, but I know META Grid is better.

Excellent work. The screens look great.

There are 2 little buttons on the upper right side of Groove Agent SE, one is ABS or Rel (It's set to ABS by default)
and the other one is Pad or Sel (It's set to Pad by default). If you press the Pad button to switch it to Sel (while the multi samples pad is selected) you can now chose the sample you want to change the volume or any other parameters and it will only change the settings of that sample within the Pad instead of all the samples within the pad. So just select the sample, tweak some buttons and when you select another sample on the same pad you'll see the the tweaks you made won't affect the other samples :) I find That really usefull instead of having to have 3 midi notes for my kick sound, I just have one and tweak it inside Groove Agent SE.

What are you trying to accomplish? Probably easier to set it up by hand and then save them as a Track Preset.

Trying to do it using Macros & PLE Presets (fyi, not LE) will get cumbersome because of dialog boxes.

Hi,

I would also go for the track preset.

Or if you want it as a start of your project, you can save it as a template project.

If you want to add it to an existing project already, your can make a project like this, save it and then import from project to your origin project.
