You might want to rephrase this so it is less ambiguous. It sounds like you want the meter to be both IN and NOT IN the signal path. What are you trying to accomplish?
Also by "Stereo Out’ do you mean the Cubase MixConsole element named Stereo Out. Or do you perhaps mean the Output on your Audio Interface that sends sound to your speakers.
