When I press a key (either through my PC keyboard or my MIDI keyboard) in the Editor piano roll keyboard, the key turns white. Fine. But how can I also display the note name of the pressed key?

You could insert a midi monitor on that midi track. Or you could use the pencil to draw a temporary note next to the key, which will orient you to which note and octave it is in the info line.
