MIDI SIGNAL BUT NO SOUND: Modx In Cubase

Post by liothomas »

Hi

I have the MODX connected to my mac running Cubase pro 10.5 and my audio interface is an Audient (Speakers connected to the Audient)

I updated the montage software. Downloaded MODX Connect. Installed Yamaha Driver.

Now launching Cubase and setting an instrument track with MODX connect (it's a template option). Setting "Midi rec to Daw" on the MODX

And.... when I play there's a signal but no sound. I think the midi got to be able to go back to the MODX to trigger its sounds before coming back out my speakers.

Did I miss a step? Help

Hi,

You didn't add an Instrument track, you added a MIDI track (at least on your screenshot, there is a MIDI Track). As an output, you set MODX, so the MIDI data are sent back to the MODX. So you should hear the sound at the MODX output (or headphones).

If you want to use Virtual Instruments (HALion Sonic SE, etc.), add an Instrument track and load a patch, please.

Thanks Martin, I think the screenshot was cut.
I'll do the setup again and will share it if it's ok.
