Some people use lanes for comping, others use track versions.
But why can you just open the lanes on the track? Is it not possible to make a button also for the track versions?
I’d love this feature, which is basically like the playlist feature of pro tools. You spill the different track versions under the track and you can have a visual result of your work. It also increases the speed of work in copy/paste from a version to another.
As I’m working for post, I usually try different versions of editing / restoration which later will be delivered in the mix. This could give a better workflow also to the mixing engineers.
Personally I also think that lanes are useless in pos. If I’m recording ADR I prefer to have 16 tracks in mute under the recording track instead of using lanes, as I need to mark or edit alternatives and so on…
