2018/2020 Mac Mini video Performance

Post by Bytorsbite »

Hello, I am currently running my studio in a full Spec 2014 Macbook Pro with a 2.8 i7 quadcore. I'm considering getting the new MAC MINI with the 3.0 6 core i7. I run 3 Displays but they are only 1920 x 1080. My question is can the MINI handle the Video load of 3 1080 displays without a egpu? I only plan to do Cubase and Wavelab on the MINI...no video editing.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 2-HP 27xi Displays, I/O Presonus 6/8, Cubase 10.5, Wavelab 9, HALion Sonic 3, HSO, Spectrasonics Trilian, Superior Drummer 3, EZ Drummer 2, EZ Keys, EZ Bass, IK Amplitube 4, IK Modo Bass

Good Question; would like to know that too ..
Macbook Retina 2015 * OSX Mojave 10.14 (always latest version) * UA Apollo Twin Thunderbolt * Cubase 10 Pro (latest version) * Maschine Studio2 * Novation Impulse * Lots and lots of legal plugins.

Hello,
Yes, the 2018 Mini can easily support three 1920x1080 displays at 60Hz. It's spec'd to support three 4k SST displays at 60Hz.
One of your displays will be HDMI and the other two will use TB3 adaptors to your monitor port format.
