Default Windows 8 Projects Folder

Hi,

Bad luck has struck and my hard drive has just crashed. I am running Cubase 8 Pro on Windows 8.1 Pro, and somehow I can access my drive via a command prompt. I want to rescue my last project, it was stored in the default projects folder, but for the life of me, I can’t remember where this is.

I have managed to back up C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg - is this the default location for projects, or do I need to be looking elsewhere?

Thanks
Lee

Hello,

sorry to hear. The default path for the projects is C:\Users*your_username*\Documents\Cubase Projects.
More simply: Start → My Documents → Cubase Projects

Kind regards,

Perfect. Thank you.

Hi Imorse

Sorry to hear about your crash, I have had a couple, and I purchased a program called “GetDataBack” by runtime software, which was brilliant at accessing crashed drives. Even over USB via an adapter it worked, you do of course have to move the disk to a working computer but I’ve generally managed to get just about everything back.

Best Regards

Dave
