I’m using Wavelab Elements 8 (Version 8.0.4 (build 701) - 64 bit) on Windows 10.
Using my computer’s Stereo Mix I’ve recorded good quality music. I want it to save in MP3 format using Fraunhoffer encoder. Unfortunately the application doesn’t allow me to do this. I need a key to unlock this feature.
So I have bought the Steinberg MP3 Upgrade Patch for 14.99€ . I have installed it and entered activation code.
But somehow my eLicenser couldn’t validate it. It’s too old. Software reported me that it cannot take any actions because it’s too old. In past it could activate and validate my Wavelab Elements. It was back in 2015. But sometimes I use this program and I plan to use it all life.
In Steinberg website I could verify my eLicender Control Center. In the website in my account there is registartion serial number which is the same as program serial number. But this eLicenser is useless.
I have bought Steinberg MP3 Upgrade Patch but I cannot use it and associate with WaveLab Elements 8. WaveLab Elements still cannot save good music as mp3 files. Of course I can choose Flac wma and other great formats. But I want mp3.
Tell me how to find the solution from this ridiculous situation.
What should I do to supplement my WE8 with mp3 patch?

I am surprised this option is still shoppable while WaveLab 8 is not sold for many years. You should ask for a refund and consider upgrading your WaveLab version, because in the current version Fraunhoffer is included.
Thank you LG for the offer. In the forum I have found similar problem with the old eLicenser that worked on older operating systems but doesn’t work on Win10. It recommended to install the latest version of the eLicenser Control Center software. So I have uninstalled the old version that couldn’t validate registrations. Also uninstalled already installed “Steinberg MP3 Upgrade Patch”.
Then installed the latest version of the “eLicenser Control Center”. And again installed “Steinberg MP3 Upgrade Patch”. Entered activation code an the operation was successful. Now WaveLab Elements 8 can save PCM set as mp3 files.
But now I’m interested if I can upgrade my WaveLab Elements 8 (Version 8.0.4 (build 701) - 64 bit) to the latest version of WaveLab Elements or not Elements. Or is it possible to upgrade to some later version without paying?
