Cubase 7 on Mac - Questions

Postby kryptonitejesus » Sat Feb 16, 2013 6:46 pm

I'm interesting in purchasing Cubase 7 over the weekend but I'm on a 8GB 27" iMac with 2.8 i5 rig and I've heard some issues about the processes being able to bring even the beefiest of Mac Pros to it's knees.

Anyone care to enlighten me on real world use on a Mac running 10.6.8 (I've upgraded before and I've had nothing but issues with everything so I tend to avoid the updates)

I do know Cubase isn't directly supported on Snow Leopard but would anyone like to shed any light on this? Should I just wait it out a bit or are things being stretched out of proportion?

Aloha k,

If you do a search you will fine several threads on the subject of
using C7 with Mac 10.6.8.

This one will get you started:

I too use a iMac (see sig) I have several projects that include up to:

1-39 VSTi tracks (SampleTank/NI/HalionSonic) with 12 audio tracks

and

2-22 audio tracks with 12 VSTi tracks all with no probs running.

HTH (hope this helps)

BTW
One beauty of the Mac is you can always run it in 'PC' mode
by using BootCamp/Fusion/Parallels etc
If yer gear ain't breakin down, you aint workin' much.

Mbook 2.4Gz 4GB 10.7.5/C5/6/7

Well unfortunately not quite on the dual booting... I've got a Duet 2 which is unfortunately a Mac only card. :(

I've gone ahead and ordered a copy anyways though, I'll wait it through, I'm sure SB will patch us all up till everything is running tip-top. 8-)
