Nuendo 5 out of stock, no 6 release. HELP!

I have been running Nuendo for film and video projects since Nuendo 1.0 came out. In fact my serial number was 1000009. I am finally upgrading to 5, since I had to buy a new Mac Pro when my computer died this week, and bought it from Steinberg yesterday.

Today I received this message:
"Unfortunately it is not possible to deliver the ordered product, as Nuendo 5 is a discontinued product that we will not receive new stocks for. We are very sorry for the inconveneince caused, but had to cancel the order. "

I am beginning a 6 film project right now, and have NO Nuendo to work on. Help please!

No help so far.

So as it stands, it is not possible to buy an upgrade to any version of Nuendo at all in the US.

Couldn't Steinberg conceivably offer me a download of v5 with the purchase of an authorization code, rather than leave their longtime user base in the cold, and turn away sales?

My guess is that they are preparing for delivery of Nuendo 6.

In the Nuendo forum they have said in the beginning of march. Approx. 3-4 weeks away.
