Pre-purchase question re: chord track

Greetings,

I have a question regarding version 7 and the chord track.

Can the chord track be input manually, just as text without any regard for pitch analysis...here is why.

I play by using a number system chart. For a long time now, I have hoped for a "text-track" in the project window that runs above the sequenced and audio parts. It would be great to have a text track so that I can input my numbers for the chord changes. For instance:
1 (spanning across 4 measures) measure number 5 change to 4 (spanning 4 measures) measure number 9 change to 2m

See where I'm going here....I use marker track to mark the verse, chorus, bridge...etc.

Back to my question...can I input numbers into the chord track, just numbers without any regard for what the analyzation of the song is chord-wise?

I haven't purchased version 7 yet....

still wish they would allow us to show/hide tracks and put automation directly on top of the soundwave/midi.
