New to all this please help!

Hello,

I have just bought all my first time recording equipment and I know there is a lot to learn so forgive any stupid questions I may or may not ask!

So far Im using:
Sequel 3
Yeti USB Microphone
Fender Stratocaster
Zoom G3 Amp Simulator

I have spent some time recording and I have managed to get the perfect sounding guitar melody recorded but I began record the vocals but once I listened back it sounded so different from the guitar like almost someone singing in a completely different room I spent hours trying to add little effects like reverb and EQ to try and blend the vocals and guitar together.. but it just wasn't working. If I'm trying to merge them both together to try and give it a live sort of sound does anyone have any tips that I should be looking out for? because Sequel 3 is new I couldn't find much on how to mix live vocals and a live guitar together like effects that can be adjusted.. if I can slap an effect on them both like an echo kind of room or something.. the vocals sound like kind of raw once I add effects it goes out of sync with the guitar!

Any suggestions? (once again sorry for the trouble)!
