So Far Behind

So Far Behind

I am still using Nuendo 3 on an old P4 mobo, Windows XP SP1. My machine never goes online. I haven't been to the Steinberg forums in years, nor have I done any software updating in years. Everything has just run great, and I have had no need to seek help or updates, etc.... until now, but I now feel way out of touch. I would like to upgrade from Nuendo 3 to 6, as well as upgrade my Windows box. I don't think I've registered my Nuendo 3 copy (not that I remember anyway); it was an upgrade from 2. I have a dongle, as well as my key activation code, serial no., etc. But, I can't register now without an eLicense(?), and I haven't the faintest as to how to obtain that now, especially given that my studio machine stays offline. I would like to post in some of the Nuendo forums, but it seems I can't without registering. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Can anyone provide a solution in simple terms? Bummer feeling it is, drifting out to sea without so much as a paddle. I should have stayed in touch. Thanks.

The USB-dongle or better USB-eLicenser that contains the Nuendo 3 license needs to be registered in MySteinberg to get support and be able to participate in the Nuendo forum.
If you have a look at your Syncrosoft License Control Center on your system, it should list the USB-eLicenser with a number. That number is needed to register Nuendo in MySteinberg. Now, it could be that the number is too short and won't be accepted. In that case, please download the eLicenser Control Center on any computer and install it on your audio system. The new eLicenser Control Center will display the correct number for registration.
The download can be found here:
