Annihilator with Cubase SX3
The end of last year saw the release of Annihilator’s 11th studio album “Schizo Deluxe” which received rave reviews worldwide. Once again, metal legend and band leader Jeff Waters used Cubase SX3 throughout the entire recording process. “I chose Cubase because of the audio engine, the high quality plug-ins and incredible features but also because it is cost-efficient. It’s perfect for the average musician, writer and studio-owner. You can't go wrong with Cubase SX3”, Waters states. Most of the recordings were done at Watersound Studios Inc. with Jeff Waters playing all guitars, bass guitar and taking the position as producer and engineer. His decision to not only rely on the highly acclaimed Universal Audio UAD-1 DSP cards for adding more VST effects, but to also use the Cubase SX3 “stock” plug-ins like the SPL DeEsser, Quadrafuzz and the VST Dynamics on almost all tracks was obviously right. The results speak for themselves…
