CJ Vanston has not only been a close friend of Joe Cocker for many years, but in his capacity as Joe's Musical Director, arranger and keyboarder has played a big role in shaping his sound over the last few years. When keyboarder Jens Skwirblies (Ian Cussick, Bobby Kimball) showed CJ Nuendo, he was instantly impressed. He decided to test Nuendo for use as his live recording system. He soon used Nuendo in a first test recording situation on a live show on his Apple G4 PowerBook running Nuendo 3. With all involved more than satisfied with the smooth running and excellent results of the recording, Jens Skwirblies and his recording team were asked to make further recordings throughout the Denmark leg of Joe's "Heart and Soul" Tour. A series of recordings were made during the second half of October 2005 using Nuendo 3 on PC laptops and Apple PowerBooks through Nuendo Multiset and Motu Traveller hardware.
