An established name in music scenes on both sides of the Altlantic and one of the Spanish-speaking world’s leading Jazz pianists and musical theatre composers, Cubase and Nuendo user Julio Awad has recently released a new CD produced with Steinberg’s production software. ‘Thousand Miles’ is the latest full-length album from the Argentinean-born pianist, who has worked together with many leading Spanish-speaking producers and artists from the worlds of Jazz, Rock and Pop, including double Grammy®-winner Paloma San Basilio, Juanjo Domínguez, Nestor Marconi and Juan Alberto Pugliano, to name but a few.

Michael Fakesch’s name has until now been almost exclusively been associated with the German electro duo Funkstörung. After Funkstörung decided to split last year, Michael has been concentrating on his solo projects. On top of his work for film and TV projects, Michael’s second solo LP, "dos", has just been released on Berlin’s ultra-trendy !K7 label.
June 13 2007 - Peter Baldock and Nuendo: A BAFTA-Winning Team
Peter Baldock is among the UK’s most sought-after audio post professionals, with a long list of credits including Bladerunner, The Beach, Cracker and Severance. Peter was awarded the UK’s highest honour in the film industry in 2007, scooping the BAFTA award for his role as sound effects editor and supervising sound editor on 9/11: The Twin Towers, the acclaimed BBC documentary dealing with the terrorist attacks on the USA in 2001. Peter talked to us about his career, his Art4Noise post facility and his experience as one of the UK’s first post production professionals using Nuendo - since version 1.0.

After a long period as the drummer of the progressive metal band Fates Warning, Mark Zonder has been focussing on other projects like "Cans" and "Warlord". End of March, his new band "Slavior" has finally released its self-titled debut album - produced with Cubase.

Nov 10 2006 - Trip art-movie produced on Nuendo
This unsual multimedia project is the brainchild of two Hamburg, Germany-based artists, Frank Otto and Bernt Köhler-Adams. Together with video artists, designers, music video producers as well as documentary filmmakers, the two have created a fascinating piece of visually and aurally stunning art that combines several films with a soundtrack that cleverly links all of the various video material used. The 5.1 surround soundtrack was produced entirely within Steinberg’s Nuendo Media Production System.

Jul 27 2006 - Doug DeAngelis: The Evidence on Nuendo and Cubase
Currently one of the hottest talents in theme music composition for TV, Doug DeAngelis has been a Cubase and Nuendo user for many years. The latest hit US show to get the DeAngelis treatment is The Evidence, a 1 hour crime drama from Executive Producer John Wells (ER, West Wing, 3rd Watch) starring Orlando Jones, Rob Estes, and Martin Landau. The show has already aired in Spring 2006 on ABC in the US, and is due to hit screens across Europe in the Autumn of this year.

The weekly 16 000-capacity services at the Lakewood Church in Houston incorporate many audio-visual elements, with high demands on the audio production crew. These demanding and multifaceted tasks include not just live mixing of the choir and big band as well as the pa system, but On Air and Audio Post for the TV and internet streaming broadcasts. Steinberg talked to Reed Hall, Lakewood’s Director of Audio and Technical Production and Brian Tankersley, Director of Audio Technologies, about their work with Nuendo during the weekly services.

Annihilator have for many years been one of the most revered bands in Metal, setting the scene alight in 1989 with their now legendary debut “Alice in Hell” album. Mar 15 2006 - The Mission of Wayne Hussey
The Mission were and continue to be one of the most influential bands the UK has ever produced. Formed in 1986 by singer Wayne Hussey and bassist Craig Brown, The Mission were one of the brightest lights of the cultural movement that quickly became known as Goth, and were one of the most commercially successful bands of that genre in music history. Jan 12 2006 Joe Cocker Tour 2005 - Live Recording with Nuendo
CJ Vanston has not only been a close friend of Joe Cocker for many years, but in his capacity as Cocker's Musical Director, arranger and keyboarder has played a big role in shaping his sound over the last few years. Having got to know Nuendo from mixing the last Joe Cocker album, Vanston wanted to check out the live recording capability of the software. In collaboration with Jens Skwirblies (Ian Cussick, Bobby Kimball), he recorded several shows of Cocker's current "Heart and Soul" tour.
Aug 23 2005 "London Elektricity" back with new album
The British godfathers of drum n bass are back. The new London Elektricity album "Power Ballads" which will be released in October 2005, was produced entirely in Cubase SX3 - from sequencing to mixing. The album features a lot of soft synths including A1 and Embracer, which both come free with Cubase SX3. All the beats were created by chopping loops using SX's hitpoint detection and slice function. "I've moved on a lot as a producer - technically I'm loads better, particularly at beats, especially since using Cubase SX3, and I've improved sonically too" states London Elektricity mastermind Tony Colman. With their unique blend of exotic instruments, medieval German lyrics and modern rock music, In Extremo are one of the few very original bands in the German music scene. But how do you produce a modern rock album if the instruments aren’t fully chromatically playable? After years of awkward, complicated workarounds, the new Cubase SX3 features brought the band the solution. But this wasn’t the only way in which the switch to Steinberg software proved to be a good thing for all those involved in the production of the new In Extremo album.

May 2 2005 Junkie XL - Expanding Limits with Cubase
Tom Holkenborg, better known as Junkie XL, is a very busy man. Besides his successful progressive dance project Junkie XL, Tom is a renowned remixer for top-acts like Britney Spears or Depeche Mode. He is doing scores for Hollywood blockbusters, music for computer games and commercials for international top brands.
The name Junkie XL stands for quality electronic music that cross over between different genres. Known as a real junkie when it comes to work, Tom always tried to expand musical limits. From the Pro 24 on Atari about 20 years ago to Cubase SX3 nowadays, Steinberg software always helped him with that.
