Mixer
The virtual Mixer in Cubase Essential 4 offers everything you need to create professional mixes:
- Up to 32 simultaneously usable physical inputs/outputs
- 8 inserts per channel
- 8 FX sends, including FX return channels
- Up to 256 groups
- Fully parametric EQs
- Drag & Drop copying, moving and swapping of insert plug-ins
- Automatic latency compensation for plug-ins
You can flexibly adapt mixer views to suit the task at hand. You can configure the mixer window so that it shows a specific combination of channels, channel types and zooms, an option you’ll find especially helpful when mixing big projects. Mixer views can be also be stored as presets.
Automation and Remote Control
Every mixer knob may be automated. Cubase Essential 4 supports the most important external controllers that let you ergonomically control the VST Mixer and intuitively record fades and pans. You can also set up any other MIDI controller as a generic control device and use it to handle the Cubase Mixer.
Professional Export Options
With the Export function, you can save the finished mix in almost all standard formats: AIFF, AIFC, Wave, Broadcast Wave, Ogg Vorbis and WMA (Windows only). MP3 export is available upon upgrade of Cubase Essential. By bouncing tracks offline, you can save considerable time when creating comparison mixes.
